Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage places tidy and to pile up supplies and pallets of goods, a reach truck could be used. The reach truck is available in several kinds: the straddle reach, stand-up reach and the double-deep reach.
The most basic type is the stand-up. The truck forks slide beneath the pallet and move it to the right storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This type of reach truck is suitable when shelving units are only one pallet in depth.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is ideal for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This model consists of telescopic forks intended to position the pallet at the back of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet should go into the same shelving section.
The added advantage of straddle reaches is that they can both slide under the pallet and grasp the sides too. These are suitable for workplaces where shelving units can be accessed in many directions. This particular model is best in situations where goods will not be damaged if the sides of the pallet are grabbed.
Often more than one type of reach truck is needed inside warehouses. Manufacturing facilities and textile companies use different types of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to use and can increase production while maximizing available storage space.
