Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Ontario

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Ontario

Use a Pneumatic Forklift
Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are utilized to move products and supplies around on wooden pallets using metal forks that are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump which raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.

Pallet trucks must be operated carefully in order to prevent loss of control while lifting heavy loads. Equipment must be inspected before operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Make certain that the handle could smoothly turn. The pallet should be stacked carefully to ensure that nothing will fall off during transportation.

On the end of the pallet truck's handle, squeeze the level situated on the inside of the metal loop in order to lower the forks and release the air in the pump. The forks can then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be centered to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has cleared the ground completely. Do not lift the pallet very high or the forklift can unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is really not safe to push the pallet ahead of you because the momentum could cause it to lose control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop abruptly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
