Change an LPG Cylinder
There are various types of sources that could power forklifts. They can run from liquid propane or LP gas, gasoline, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various uses. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders which could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
In order to avoid possible serious injury, specific precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. For example: be certain to wear the appropriate safety equipment like heavy gloves, goggles or safety glasses. Make sure that you turned off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never utilize any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
