Forklift Truck Training
You should be trained on a forklift or an industrial-powered lift truck prior to becoming a qualified operator. This particular type of training is usually tailored to the specific kind of machinery, individual facility and any machine attachments to be used by the operator. It is essential to have safety foremost on the mind of the trainee or the trainer.

General Qualifications
You should be 18 years old if you want to operate a forklift. Additionally, you should have the physical ability to operate and control the kind of equipment you are training for in a safe manner. Prior to assuming any operator duties, all operators have to be properly trained.

Pedestrian Safety
One of the most common types of forklift related injuries happens when a pedestrian is struck by the equipment. Operators of forklifts are required to always yield to pedestrians and use their horns when nearing any pedestrian area, intersection or crosswalk.

Weather Conditions
Amongst the most hazardous places to use a forklift are loading docks. When rain filters in through open dock doors, the floor could become very slippery and dangerous. It is really important that forklift operators consider these situations when operating within these kinds of environments.

Certification
Both classroom instructions and hands-on exercises must be completed in order to become a certified forklift operator. This type of training can be adjusted to suit the requirements of each and every kind of workplace; for example, incorporating the different attachments which will be utilized on that particular job site and every specific kind of machinery.

Accidents
On a yearly basis, around 100 individuals are killed due to accidents related to using forklifts. In addition, there are about 100,000 who are injured. With correct forklift training and safe use of the machines, most of these injuries could be prevented all together.
